Proudly representing our community

Hundreds of adults and keiki have called Kawaihae Canoe Club their paddling home for nearly five decades, breaking many on-island records and winning countless state championships. Outrigger paddling goes back more than 2000 years and remains essentially the same today. Our ancestors used paddling to travel across the Pacific Ocean navigating by stars, but they also enjoyed outrigger paddling for leisure. We can thank these ancestors for their wisdom because outrigger paddling continues to impress the world today as paddling is an international sport, enjoyed all over the globe.
