Aloha,
I seem to have left a pair of shorts down at the race this past weekend. A fellow paddler of mine told me she turned it in to the person on the microphone that day. Any idea on how I could get those shorts back?
Mahalo,
Nicky

Hi there, we left the shorts at the registration table since I had to keep moving around that day. I will ask the registration ladies where the shorts went. Thank-you.

Can you sign up to paddle for fun and not be in the races? I know there is a big time commitment for those that race. I like to paddle, get some good exercise and be on the water. I haven’t done outrigger paddling…lake and river…2 person canoe’s type of paddling.

I left a pair of oc1 stands by the boat ramp 12/8/11. pvc style, I could really use them if anyone has seen them. Does anyone know who makes them now? P3 doesn’t carry them anymore. Please call 805-540-4461 if you have any info. Mahalo

Aloha,
I’ve never paddled before and wondered if you have training for a novice? If so, is the schedule as written?
Can I try it before joining first?
Do you have recreational canoeing or is it all for competitions?
Mahalo,
Mona

Aloha, I was kayaking Sunday 9/16 and left a black handled, blue bladed kayak paddle down at the boat ramp and was wondering if anyone turned it in or left a message about finding it? I’m disabled and kayak for theramp and can’t afford a new paddle. Mahalo for your help!!

Hello,
My name is Deanna and I used to paddle for Kawaihae in 1996, 1997? Anyway, I was trying to like your group page but it’s still pending. My next question is, once you are a member of one canoe club even though it was years ago, are you technically still a part of of the first canoe club? I am living in Seattle and would like to paddle here. I was just on the Big Island but didn’t get a chance to see Manny. I think I was there before the practice started. Hope all is very well with the canoe club, I miss it and was very happy to step foot on the grounds again.
Deanna

Hi Deanna,
It’s Hai, I manage the KCC site. Thanks for your note. I believe the eligibility regarding clubs only applies to local clubs of Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association (HRCA) and there is something in the by laws that allows someone who has not competed as a member in HRCA clubs for 7-8 years can return as a novice paddler. I will be in Seattle after May 21 for about a week. Where and when are practices there in Seattle? Mahalo, hai
